never been to the far north so let us know what's up there. I think you can ignore the "no camping" signs as they are illegal in Scotland, https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/off-road-camping-can-we-cut-out-the-confusion/0013761/ I know the bloke that lives in the most northern house on the mainland [ steve ] never home mind [looks like vw alan's twin ] people say you have to drive nw 500, https://www.visitscotland.com/see-do/tours/driving-road-trips/north-coast-500/ but it could be crowded up there, I just love the coast so I expect we will go someday...

Lots of places to wild camp in the far north. Some nice harbours on the east side, sandy beaches on the north coast, spectacular wild scenery to the west. Be warned that it will be busy in July, partly thanks to the publicity created by the North Coast 500 invention. And there will be midges, particularly in the west.
