Stratená in the Slovakian Paradise national park offers lots of walks, caves and is pretty dead so there is possibly not a disco. I was there in May and you can see how unlively it is. Therefore no-one is going to give you any hassle if you leave your van here!
If you have ever dreamed of spending the night at a border crossing but don't fancy the hassle of being detained by the authorities then this is a place to do it. Plenty of parking and no-one around to harrass you. This is close to the Slovakian village of Lenartovce.
You can get some excellent mountain views from a free parking space here in Zdiar near the border crossing with Poland at Podspady. I did leave my van parked inside the enclosure although I think that this is private. When I was there, I was joined by a lorry. There is nothing that says you cannot leave your vehicle here long term and the disco music is added free of charge! This was filmed on a working day - and you can see how busy it is.
Tatranská Lomnica, as the name indicates, is in the Tatra mountains. I parked my van here in a parking spot in a housing area - as there was plenty of space I did not think I was causing a nuisance for anyone. However I would not use it with a large motor home.
just finished watching these, lovely,we are going to visit this country i just love the sound of the birds nothing like it,incidentally i am wondering if ,off camera, you picked up and walked off with the calender or was it full of stains?
