I have been with ‘Comfort’ Insurance for almost 9 years, however, they do have some restrictions on age of van etc. Have heard of others who have used Adrian Flux

do they do full timers tho
Yes they do.
You can also get 365 one trip policy from Saga, there are a few others like NFU , Louth branch is supposed to understand the cover needed.
Rac in bristol also do it.
We have a post code so have a 9 month one trip with Comfort. It's up for renewal now (sat) and has only gone up by around £15 . It gives us the best cover we need so I haven't looked anywhere else..

Just be careful what you are getting covered for, with a lot of the Insurance companies they do offer extended European cover but they require you to be on the Nominal Roll, the minute you mention ‘Fulltime Living’ and that you are not a UK home owner they say No. So some people are ‘economical with the facts’ and that will depend on each individuals level of personal risk apetite. Both the vans we have owned, the former ‘Big Momma’ and our current van, and our personal contents, are worth a lot of money and if the worse happened we would like to have the knowledge that we have the appropriate cover. If you are economical with the facts and have to make a claim for a total loss and they discover that you are living in the van fulltime, and had not told them that ‘Material Fact’, your Insurance ’may’ become null and void. It is one of those questions about how would they know that you were not just on a holiday when something happens ? But of course, normal Insurance cover and Fulltimers cover is a big difference in annual premiums, so for some it is worth the risk to pay the lower annual payments, at the end of the day only you can make that choice ;)

Eric, dont buy a rollerteam as they have just cancelled the warranty on a new motorhome bought by a family (2 adults and 2 children) to live in fulltime... its 3 months old with a damaged floor..
Rollerteam said their vehicles are not designed to be used to live in.. but just for holidays.......
Not something I've heard before.
It's on a rollerteam forum on facebook.

Just to clarify us, we now own a house with a postcode....so we do not need fulltime cover . They do 3 levels of cover, 30 days , 275 days, or 365 days on an annual policy. At least they did last year and the year before..
We also have their European breakdown cover at £65 per year.
Big difference in prices.....
The bad bit in ours is if we are not in it the vehicle has to be on our drive after 48 hrs or we need to tell them ... do we do need to be at home for some of the year.

Not likely to be changing our van again, the Hymer is pretty good quality and suits our needs :thumb: Most production vans are only intended for recreational use and not for fulltime living.

Nice van, but noticed the rear full width spray guard. This has just been mentioned on the Hymer forum, if it is affixed to a wooden base then strong likelihood of spray and muck from rear wheels accumulating and rotting floor, worth just investigating :thumb:
