    Hello All
We are Paul and Karen and are beginning the journey to full time motorhome living.
Currently discussing the best layout suitable for our needs and have settled on an island bed and left hand drive. It may appear that this is only very general but it took a long time to get this far. All other possible variations and amenities were discussed but these are the only 2 criteria that we decided were mandatory , on all other aspects we can compromise. Anybody know of any 2nd hand models that fit the above with a budget of around 25 to 30K.

Hi. Welcome. You should have a little think on storage space.. you might need it.
We bought a transverse bed over a garage thinking it's what we wanted......now not so sure ...
Importing from Europe is easy so you should check out there for lhd ones. Mobile de is a good site.

Welcome to the forum :thumb: Internal layout and internal/external storage space are very important factors, but their are lots of others, length, weight etc. We used to have a 9 metre long van with Island bed, we loved it and do miss the space we had. However, practicality has now meant that after seven years we have shifted down to a 6 metre long van with transverse type bed at rear. Less internal storage but the exterior garage is much bigger than the old van. We miss the space and comfort of the larger van but enjoy the practicality of the smaller one, if it wasn't for the limitations of parking the new van at our apartment in Spain I would say that the ideal length would be 7m-7.5m. You should have no problem finding a van with an Island bed but may be quite limited in choice to finding a pre-owned LHD in UK, if it is a possibility for you then look at EU websites if you are unable to compromise on the LHD aspect.

We use a trailer to add the required storage so we don't worry about payload, the maximum towing weight is 5250kg, this means we don't need a large garage, a pain to reverse though. Our's is a LHD Hymer from Germany.
