    France

I love France for the general attitude towards "les camping-cars", but why Oh why can the mairies not figure out how to make the Campings Municipale stay open for more than just the French holiday frenzy??? With so many people trying to avoid the school and general holidays, there HAS to be an...

    Seasonal pitch for another year...

Hi Paul, Good that you've got such a deal sorted! I'm curious. Does this campsite have the same type of rules that the major clubs have? Or is it a question of just being on top of the allowed timings? I get he notion of frequent trips, and not being in situ for long periods of time...I almost...

    Hola from La Costa Brava

Looks like we're planning our first Portugal visit this December. Leaving from Limoges area, how long would it take us to get to Porto? 2 -3 days? Avoiding expensive toll roads if possible, don't mind the shorter stretches or cheaper ones.

    Hello from Nonancourt

Glad you're on the road! Yes, this is a permanent address. I'll PM (or DM!) the details to you. We're here most of the time, unless I'm back in the UK for work meetings.

    Hello from Nonancourt

Hi Fatima, Sounds like you've got an open road ahead for a while? Still in your Hymer? If you're passing through the Limousin region, we're now based there, Haute Vienne near Charente. PM me for stop off details.

    A little Advice please

My van is on a Peugeot Boxer/AlKo chassis, same as many horse boxes that seem to do OK. Not that I'm bothered by hedgerow scratches on the windows, but how do you deal with them?

    A little Advice please

And I did that route twice last week. Definitely a better experience than the SANF toll routes. The grain belt around Blois was spectacular, and all those Sauvignon Blanc vines in the Tourraine. Very nice!

    A little Advice please

Google Maps says going from Haute Vienne outside Limoges to Calais was 6.5 hours by Autoroute/toll roads, plus approx 90 euros in toll charges. The same route on non-toll roads is 8.5 hours. 90 euros to gain 2 hours....hmmm!

    Fulltimers and Insurance

Hello All, I'm with Comfort, but have recently moved to France. My UK driving license is still registered at a relative's house in UK, and I am considering re-registering my motorhome there too. I'm getting ready to call Comfort and update them, but just wondered if any of you had any advice for...

    What temperature do you

Hi Alf&m Are you in Interior Alaska by any chance? Your pictures look like Fairbanks, North Pole or Delta? As Sundowners Nigel and Pamala know, we used to live up in Fbx. My friends there are telling of a recent big snow dump.

No extras? Might want to think about an extra leisure battery and solar panel. Really good for non-hookup nights. I'm getting Gaslow refillable lpg bottles fitted on Monday. Are you on the meandering road yet?
